Notice on Specification Change for Patent Abstracts of Japan (PAJ) and Issue Date of February CD-ROM

National Center for Industrial property Information and Training (INPIT) announces the information regarding Patent Abstracts of Japan (PAJ) as follows.

The JPO has sold PAJ in CD-ROM. The format of the CD-ROM will be changed from the conventional SGML format to the XML format from the issue of February, 2012. The new data specification and sample data are available. In the mean time (for about 6 months), the text data and index file in the conventional SGML format will be provided, as well as the data in the new XML format. Both of the data will be stored in the same PAJ/CD-ROM

When you browse PAJ after the issue of February using MIMOSA software, the latest MIMOSA software (ver.6.0.7.5) and the MIMOSA update should be installed in your PC. Such software is stored in PAJ/CD-ROM and will be provided via the website of the European Patent Office (EPO)

With the above-mentioned change, the issue date of February PAJ/CD-ROM (2012-2, [206]) will be March 2. To the purchaser of such data, we apologize for any inconvenience and would appreciate your patience. The issue date for PAJ/CD-ROM of March and the following months will be announced on “Provision of Patent Information: Notice” (in Japanese).
