INPIT maintains proper environment to promote utilization of industrial property information so that it provides not only inspection services for the public to search industrial property information via the J-PlatPat but also high value-added services, through private information service providers, for industries as well as the public.

INPIT standardizes the JPO data in Japanese on the legal status of examination into SGML format and makes them available to the public at marginal cost. INPIT also provides comprehensive document database containing image data of paper gazettes and creates electric data of patents and utility models in XML format, which encourages corporations to establish their internal databases and satisfies individual needs, through private information service providers, with high value-added services.
